There’s a guy who lives near me who used to have Corvette ‘salad shooters’ on a VW GTI of some sort. It was dropped but not stanced, and it actually looked really good. Sometimes, there are OEM wheels from other manufacturers that work really well
So yesterday I’m at work, driving around trying to find scofflaws to boot, and I found (and booted!) this:
The vehicle, of course, is a 2010ish Toyota Tacoma, and those wheels...well, there’s an Oldsmobile logo there, albeit hard to see.
I know I’ve seen the wheels, but I can’t place exactly what they came off of. Regardless of where they came from, they’re a bizarre wheel choice on this Tacoma.
So Oppo, what’s your weirdest OEM wheel on another manufacturer’s vehicle?

I put a Chrysler minivan wheel in place on a Ranchero, but the backspacing is wrong. Doesn’t really count, as I was using it to check something.

There’s a W124 on my street using Hyundai Azera mk1 wheels.

VW CC wheels, they are the single most ridiculous trend here, classless and tasteless.

I dunno, I kind of like them.

Not that weird, but maybe the most mismatched on price?
Also just cam across this …. VAG people will put any wheel on their car.

I don’t care for the stancing, but I think the wheels themselves look pretty nice.

i saw a dropped Passat CC on bentley wheels. It looks good, weirdly

BMW wheels on pro touring cars. Liable to start a flame war on a forum, but not because of originality or looks- because of bolt pattern “tolerance”.

GM Monza rims on a GM Chevette.
That hexagonal pattern is unique to GM Monza. So it looks hedious on any other car, because you say “Cars using Monza wheels”.
This is a GM Monza. It’s a Brazilian thing, mostly. In fact, there where whole kits of bumpers and lines to make a Chevetter look like a Monza, which was even more pathetic. I won’t post VW Orbitals again, it’s a repeat...

I think I have one in my iCloud. I’m looking for it.
Edit: Nothing, sorry. I’ll see what I can do when I get home.

VW and Honda both has 4x100 lug patterns, but wildly different offsets. Weirdest set I owned was some VW wheels that fit not one tiny bit on my poor civic :S

Painted early 90s Saturn wheels on an AW11. Those wheels were such sluts. I used them on both AW11s I’ve owned, a 96 Saturn SL2 (which wasn’t available with this wheel style from the factory), a CRX, a RT4WD Civic wagon, and a Miata. I love 4x100s!

Weirdly good on a Scirocco too

There’s a large thread on Audizine of nothing but Benz wheels on B5 A4s and S4s. Bentley wheels seem popular as well. The aforementioned Vette wheels too

Disliking the stance is a given at this point I think. Not sure why, but those rims remind me a bit of the Slicers on my SHO.

That’s what I thought, too. But my Google search for “Oldsmobile wheels that look like a crumpled up piece of paper” didn’t return any useful results.

That looks like it belongs.

Where do you live that you saw Corvette wheels on a VW? I saw something similar recently, but I can’t remember where. I also can’t imagine there are two people crazy enough to run that setup.

Yeah, and I’m pretty sure the Aurora didn’t have 6-lugs.

Def wheels from a Corvette or Mercedes on Audis.

It would have to come from a Bravada of some generation.
![]() 08/19/2015 at 15:42 |

The only gen Bravada that had 6-lugs is the GMT360 version and I don’t recognize those at all. I believe the later GM minivans also had 6-lugs, but I don’t know if Oldsmobile had a version from that gen.

I hate it when people put on new wheels on their car and they are worse than the stock ones and made in china and chrome. Some people don’t even consider the way the wheels will look and just buy shiny things.

Sounds like GM in it’s entirety.

I was seriously considering some 96-98 Cobra wheels when I needed to get tires for the Kia.
